Spring From Below

 Spring from Below

Plow the dirt.
And plant some seeds.
Help the earth and people breathe.
For every hand,
there is a seed.
Children chant:
Ice plant,
Sun shines brightly upon their heads.
And from the dirt they will grow.
To everyones delight,
Spring is finally here!

I love the sentiment behind this poem. Growing seeds is always a part of spring in my household.

You certainly flash a lot of spring images in relatively few words. I also love the 'spring' from the idea of what the seeds do, as well as that of the season.

Hello nice to meet you via Susanna's spring contest.
I loved your of my favorite 'spring' things was to plant a vegetable garden. Sitting on the sun-warmed earth, pushing seeds into the soil, inhaling the fragrance of spring...pure bliss. Your contest entry brought back beautiful memories.:)
